Baroque Concerto for Piano and Strings Orchestra -- Nadav Amir-Himmel

During the spring semester 2013, RMU hosted musician and composer as a Rooney International Scholar: Nadav Amir-Himmel from the State of Israel. The winner of the first prize in the senior division in the Third International Antonin Dvorak Composition Competition for his compositions, Amir-Himmel also won prizes there for Best Free Composition and Best Composition Based on Models. His visit was made possible by a collaboration between the Rooney International Scholar Program and the University Honors Program.

The highlight of Amir-Himmel's visit was a world premiere performance of one of his compositions on campus, this Baroque Concerto for Piano and String Orchestra, written for his visit and for RMU.
